About CLAWS

Welcome to the official website of the

Creative Literature and Writing Society

We are a student club of the University of Melbourne all about writing, reading, and performing creative works.

Ultimately, it's a club about storytelling, self-expression, socialising, and - of course - fun!

CLUB AIMS

To provide an inclusive environment and a place to create, collaborate, and experiment with new writing endeavours.

4

To discuss the works of writers from every field of creative writing such as song writing, screenwriting, novels, playwriting, short stories, poems, memoirs, personal essays and more.

2

To offer the opportunity of free expression for all written word creatives in the University of Melbourne.

5

To teach emerging writers the attributes and life skills that can improve their work ethic and have a healthier approach to creative writing in terms of discipline and self-care.

3

To help students master the written word and nurture their talent and passion for creative writing.

Meet our Mascots!

This is Quill and Raddish, our beloved official mascots!

So don't be surprised if you see motifs of cats and raven all around; they are here to support you in spirit and give you good luck in your writing endeavours!

Raddish and Quill have also had their own fantastical, fun little adventures, chronicled here (coming soon)!
