SUBMISSION

CLAWS accepts textual submissions year round - to be featured as individual online articles or in our biannual anthology Inkspot. Guidelines in general and for the forthcoming edition of Inkspot are outlined below. 

General Submission Guidelines

  • ​Text up to 10,000 words.​

  • Graphic or Visual mediums such as graphic novels up to 50 pages.

  • Attach your work and send to claws.unimelb@gmail.com with the subject title: "General Submission" as a .pdf, .docx or google drive link.

  • By sending your submission to our email, you are expression your agreement to our submission terms & conditions below:

INKSPOT 2025 Archive Submission Guidelines

  • ​Short Story: 1000-5000 words.

  • Flash Fiction: 100-1000 words.

  • Non-fiction: 5000 words.

  • Poetry: 4 poems - 100 lines each.

  • Scripts: 3000 words.

  • Comics: 25 pages. Page size ~ a5.

  • Other: email for specifications.

  • Attach your work and send to claws.unimelb@gmail.com with the subject title: "Inkspot Submission" as a .pdf, .docx or google drive link.

  • By sending your submission to our email, you are expression your agreement to our submission terms & conditions below:

Submission Terms & Conditions

  • You retain all ownership and distribution rights of anything you submit.

  • You can choose to remove your work from our website and digital Inkspot archive at any point in time and CLAWS will comply as soon as possible.

  • Once hardcopies of Inkspot begin circulation, we cannot guarantee that we can recall or reprint the physical issue if you choose to remove or alter your work.

  • We retain the right to reject or remove any work for any reason at our discretion.

  • You give us the right to promote your published piece on CLAWS' social media, website, and Melbourne University associated events.

  • We encourage you to sign up as a member for a free hardcopy of the publication on request.
